Having just experimented with cooking up some quandongs,I am reminded of a taste from my childhood of "salty plums".Does anyone know if there is any connection between quandons and "salty plums". What are "salty plums?"
Salty plums are found at Asian grocery stores and are an imported item, plums that are salted...I remember them very well also from my childhood and havn't tasted them in years, it brings back memories. The funny thing is today I was at the market and someone smelt the quandongs and said exactly the same thing as you.....so you're not alone thinking that they are like the salty plums.
